Erling Haaland Sets New Champions League Record

Erling Haaland has made history by becoming the fastest player ever to reach 50 goals in the UEFA Champions League, hitting the landmark in only 49 matches.

The Norwegian striker broke the long-standing record of Ruud van Nistelrooy, who needed 62 appearances to achieve the same total. Haaland’s journey to this milestone includes his time at Red Bull Salzburg, Borussia Dortmund, and now Manchester City.

His 50th goal came in a clash with Napoli, where he converted a powerful header from a Phil Foden cross. To put his achievement into perspective, some of the game’s greatest names needed far more games: Lionel Messi reached 50 in 66 matches, Robert Lewandowski in 77, Kylian Mbappé in 79, and Cristiano Ronaldo in 91.

At just 25 years of age, Haaland is rewriting the Champions League record books. If he continues at this phenomenal pace, he could go on to break several all-time records in the competition.
